We contacted Mountain Experience at the last minute on the recommendation of Russell Brice after our original trekking company folded. With very little notice they were able to arrange the exact trip we wanted - trekking to EBC, Kala Pattar and climbing Lobuche East - and also managed to provide the Sherpa we had been recommended – Pemba Tenji. Communication was always very easy with them via e-mail, phone or text, and our various airport collections and internal flight arrangements were brilliantly organised – particularly as we had to re-arrange some Lukla flights due to the weather. Chhuldim was always very accommodating with any of these changes, and nothing seemed too much trouble.
On the mountain, Pemba was our ‘fixer’, seemed to know everyone and looked after us extremely well – never stopping himself when he thought we might need things. He is also a great guy with a good sense of humour and quickly became one of us. Equipment was all good with excellent expedition tents that kept out the snow, and our climbing Sherpa, Dawa was also excellent, and welcomed us into his home for tea when we were passing.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use Mountain Experience again, and can’t really imagine using anyone else for the next one!

Mountain Experience..Annapurna circuit
Mountain Experience was easy to communicate with via email or phone if necessary and they took care of all the details for the trip. They met us at the airport when we arrived, and they made sure we got to the airport on time for our return. We've now used Mountain Experience twice, and have been very happy with both experiences.
Our group of 3 trekkers had used Pemba in 2007 for Everest Base Camp trek and enjoyed him so much we requested him again for our 2009 Annapurna Trek.
Having a good guide is important for many reasons, and Pemba did an excellent job for us. In particular, I got a nasty head cold a few days into the trek and was miserable most of the time. Pemba took the initiative to make sure I was doing as well a possible, bringing me tea in my room, carrying my day pack and helping me pace myself for the difficult climb over the pass.
Pemba manages the porters, and they did a great job for us too. Not only in their capacity as porters, but also in helping out in general when necessary.
In the cities, Pemba helped us get the best shopping deals, showed us around town and helped us with our city adventures.

Mountain Experience.. Island Peak 2009
In September 2009 I contacted Chhuldim of Mountain Experience with the intention of arranging and out of season climb of Island Peak Nepal (January 2010). I found Mountain Experience a top class organisation in every way. They were highly competitive on pricing. Chhuldim took care of the peak fees, various deposits, getting and changing connecting flights and providing specialist gear. The organization has a great network of contacts all through the Khumbu Valley including; high altitude climbing Sherpa staff, porters, and lodge owners. Without exception these contacts were friendly, efficient and reliable. In fact my interactions with the staff remain a highlight of my trip to Nepal.
The organization of the acclimatisation phase and the climb went like clockwork, except we could not control the weather. I was very impressed with the professionalism of this company and recommend it as a starting point for climbing and trekking trips to Nepal.
